Here is a formula for relief from pain that sounds simplistic, but is utterly profound: Stop doing what hurts you and start doing what heals you. It is only because you accept-even revere-suffering that it persists. Pain is a result of denial or resistance to your natural self.
When you live from your divine nature, suffering will fall away. You will no longer see life as a jungle or live in a realm where survival is at stake. You don't deserve to suffer. No one does. When this truth sinks into your psyche, you will arrive at the tipping point of your spiritual journey, and bleak expectations will give way to the broad-est, brightest vision. The world will literally become new and you will live, as Thoreau promised, with "the license of a higher order of be-ings."
